Who are we ?

The Charterhouse Oil Mill

Located at the heart of the historic centre of Villeneuve-lez- Avignon, in Provence, a few steps from the Chartreuse du Val de Bénédiction, the activities and expertise of Maison Bronzini revolve around olive oil and related products, a patisserie, tearoom, and restaurant.

Built in 1358, it is one of the oldest working oil mills in Provence. The heart of the Maison Bronzini business, the oil mill of the Charterhouse—founded by Pope Innocent VI—had new life breathed into it in 2008 when it was taken over by Philippe Bronzini. An artisan miller who prizes working in close partnership with regional producers, Philippe Bronzini and his team produce unique, acclaimed assemblages of extra virgin olive oils, which have won numerous awards in recent years.

The Mill team shares their passion for the craft and for olives with guided tours and tastings.

The mill stores

Built into the Mill, under the arches of the Charterhouse’s former kitchens and stables, the Maison Bronzini Stores boast the flavours of local producers and of Provence with carefully selected products. Complementing the olive oils produced at the Mill, the Stores assign space to a selection of local products including original liqueurs, regional delicacies, and fragrances and cosmetics from Provence. A beautiful space showcasing accessories and decorations completes the selection.

The mill bistro

Located in the Mill’s former barn, the Mill Bistro offers seasonal, generous and authentic cooking in an unusual setting with a warm ambience. The chef emphasizes the importance of fresh local products that are prepared on site. The wine list has been put together with local winemakers. Private spaces are also available for business or family lunches, events and parties. A cosy-chic bar and a tearoom put the finishing touches to the gourmet and welcoming ambience.

The Maison Bronzini Patisserie

Home-made by our pastry chefs, our sweets offer a rich assortment of gourmet delights: individual and sharing desserts, macaroons, chocolates, seasonal creations and homemade ice creams.
